Movie That Wasn't to Be - Friends from Canada

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 50 Lo 38 -- It got cold last night and it's going to get colder tonight. We're doing fine with the heat pump, which switches over to the furnace when it gets to the mid-40's. And we also have a small ceramic heater in the bedroom. It's strange to have the heat pump running, then the furnace kicks in and both of them run for a while at the same time, until finally the heat pump turns off. Needless to say, we're staying warm.

It was a very cool and windy day. And it's Tuesday, which is our movie day. We went to the 2:00 showing of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. We take turns picking a movie and this was my week. I've been looking forward to it all week, just to see Tom Cruise. There were about 15 people in the theater, including a family that had a young lady who appeared to be severely mentally challenged. She was quite unruly and loud during the movie. We did our best to ignore her, but it became very difficult for us to concentrate on the movie. We certainly sympathize with those who are challenged in life, and we admire those who care for them. They're entitled to enjoy the same things in life as everyone else. But we finally decided to quietly leave and ask for a refund and come back another time. We thought that would be better than making a complaint to management. It turns out we weren't alone; several couples followed us out for the same reason.

By the time we returned home our Canadian friends Rick and Elaine had arrived in their motorhome. They'll be here for about a month. We met them this past summer while we were in Smiths Falls, Ontario visiting Sandra and Gordon. They drove over five hours today, so I invited them for dinner so they wouldn't have to cook or look for someplace to eat tonight. We hope to show them around and share some park activities while they're here. I can't believe they brought this cold weather with them!  :)  After enjoying some spaghetti and good conversation, we all went down the street to their motorhome for after dinner coffee and more conversation. A good way to end the day.

So THAT was who dragged that cold weather down there! I knew it had to be a reason!

The thought occurred to me to mention something about the cold front and the arrival of 'those Canadians', but I didn't want to be mean about it.

Plus, "cold" is a relative term. We had 10C here and sunny, and that works for me in January!
