Movie Day in Lake Wales

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi 68  Lo 30 -- It was another night of at or below freezing temperatures, but that's all changing starting today. Nice warm weather is coming our way.

I'm trying to get caught up on reading blogs, but it's not happening. I did read several today. I'm trying to find out how many of our RV'ing friends are in Florida. We plan to go to the RV show in Tampa next Friday morning, then on over to Jim's weekly blood test that afternoon at the VA Hospital.

Today we went to see the movie Mission: Impossible, Ghost Protocol. What a fun movie! Lots of "edge-of-your-seat" action. And Tom Cruise... need I say more, ladies? It was our second attempt to see that movie. We went to Sebring on Tuesday, our normal movie day, but we had some problems with noisy movie-goers, so we got our money back and went today. Also, the movie projection system in the Sebring theater we went to is so old that the picture is very dim. Jim was more upset about that than me, but even I thought the picture was pretty bad. So today we went to Lake Wales, about 20 miles north of us. The theater there is very nice and much more modern.

The theater is in a mall, and we just had to take a walk through the mall after the movie. We were surprised at how few people were there, and how many vacant stores there were. We're not sure if they're in a bad market area or what, but it sure was quiet around there.

We've been visiting with Elaine and Rick  in the evenings. They're only about 100 yards down from us on the same street. It's nice to spend time with friends! Tomorrow I hope to go to Tai Chi, and tomorrow evening we're playing cards with some other couples. It should be fun.
