(Avon Park, FL) Hi 73 Lo 52 -- There's times when you just know how good you've got it. This is one of those times. The weather is perfect, the RV parks is perfect, no worries, no concerns and life is very good. That's how I felt today.
Jim's Aunt Adele and Uncle Richard are visiting tomorrow, and I want the place presentable, so we did some cleaning today. We went to Walmart to get some things we need for tomorrow's grilled lunch. We noticed along the way, how much gas prices are climbing. We've had to fill up a couple times this week with all the traveling back and forth to Tampa. Gas was $3.29 on Tuesday, and up to $3.49 today. Could it be bad karma from the recent decision to not allowing the pipeline to be built from Canada to Louisana?
While out, we went for lunch at Taco Bell, then over to Maxwell's Groves for another half-gallon of orange juice. The REAL reason we went there was for some of their excellent orange ice cream. It's so good! We'll miss that place when we leave. After we got home, I put all the food away then finished cleaning the rest of the RV. Luckily it doesn't take long. Jim cleaned up the grill so it's ready. We're really looking forward to seeing Adele and Richard again. We visited them at their beautiful home in the Maryland mountains this past spring. They're on their way to visit their son in Ft. Lauderdale. We're thrilled they're going out of their way to visit us on their way south!
While outside, I noticed a huge sun dog in the sky. It was around the sun as a total extra ring. Sure pretty.
It was beautiful, but some people think that a sun dog is a sign that bad weather is coming. Something to watch for this next week.
I visited awhile with Kathleen, Jon, Debbie, Elaine, Ken and Rick for awhile before getting dinner.
Jim's been having serious racing withdrawal during this NASCAR off season, so today he watched the first couple of hours of the Rolex 24-hour race from Daytona. I read some blogs and played computer games until dinner time. After that we'll settle in for our normal evening of TV and chatting.
