Another Trip to Tampa -- Stopping at Lazy Days

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 73 Lo 63 -- It started raining about 6:00, but no storms like predicted. We got up and out the door by 9:30 to go to Tampa VA Hospital Coumadin Clinic for Jim's blood test. We love stopping at IHOP on the way and they had a special dish that I'll ask for every time I go there. It's called a Hash Brown Stacker. It's hash brown potatoes with a slice of tomato, a fried egg, spinach, and hollandaise sauce on it, served with two pancakes on the side. I love a big breakfast! On up the road further we got caught up in a traffic jam. Jim brought up the live traffic on his Droid and saw that it wasn't a very long back-up. It turned out to be a very bad two-car accident. The side roads all around the scene were roped off. The two cars were mangled almost beyond recognition. We're not sure what happened, but we both said a little prayer for those involved.

We made it to the hospital on time, despite having a really hard time finding a parking space. It's really getting difficult to negotiate the parking areas around the hospital due to ongoing construction. Jim's blood test results are right on target, so it looks like he finally has the correct dosage of Warfarin. Now hopefully it'll stay stable.

We had made arrangements to meet up with Gin and Syl at Lazy Days RV, where they are taking delivery of their new Winnebago Journey diesel pusher motor home. The dealer is just a few miles from the hospital and on our  way home. We met Gin and Syl a few years ago. They hail from the Raleigh, NC area like us. We searched out their site and found it empty except for their car, which they were sitting in waiting for us. Their new home was in the service bay getting some final touch ups. So we sat and visited in a display model that's similar to theirs. It's a beautiful model with a great floor plan. If we were ever to switch to a motor home, that would be the one we'd want. It was so great seeing them again!

Jim had to try out the driver's seat.

After our hugs and goodbyes we headed home. Se stopped at a Cracker Barrel for some dinner, and we got home a little after dark. It's great that it's lighter later.

It was a great day, and seeing our RV'ing friends Gin and Syl made it even better. We're hoping to get together with some more friends in the next month.

Your breakfast sounded really good, would like to try it sometime. Saw some pictures of Gin and Sil's Motorhome on Nancy and Bill's blog, boy it looks nice. Glad you had a good day and that Jim had good test results for his blood.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm sorry that our home wasn't available. I think it's even nicer than the one we sat in, but then again, I am a little bias. Maybe we can get together again before we leave the area. Safe travels.

If you love big breakfasts then head to Gondolier in Clearwater Beach. Try the spinach and feta omelet among many other great items.
