(Avon Park, FL) Hi 88 Lo 64 -- For all our readers up north, sorry about the title. It was already really warm when I got up at 9:00. We opened all the windows and turned on the two fans we have, then sat outside all morning. Jim read his Kindle and I played games and read on my Droid smartphone. When we went inside for lunch it was just too hot, so we shut all the windows and turned on the A/C. We notice that when the outside temperature gets to 80 or above it's time to cool the RV down. It's been unusually warm for this time of year. The normal high should be around 71 and it's been right around 80 almost since we got here three weeks ago. But we're not complaining! :)
One activity on the schedule today that I wanted to go to was Tai Chi. There were five of us at the class. I took Tai Chi classes several years ago and I wanted to see if it was easier or harder than it was back then. The teacher was excellent and the moves were very different. I used to suffer from sore and swollen knees when I finished a Tai Chi session. Today we were taught how to shift our weight from our knees to our upper legs and rear end for support. What a difference! I'm planning on going every week. Now I have to practice the moves during the week.
Jim went for his walk then took his truck out for a drive to exercise the engine. It hasn't been moved since we got here. He also topped it up with diesel. It's best to keep the fuel tank full on a diesel to prevent condensation in the tank. At least that's what he read once.
Our son Frank downloaded Skype on his iPhone and called us to try it out. It took a while to get everything configured, but we finally got it working good. We're now set to do a video call on Sunday and watch the grand kids open their Christmas gifts. Technology is great! We're so far away, but still get to be with family on the biggest day of the year.
Jim grilled some chicken breasts for dinner, and they were really good! It's time to relax and get on chat the rest of the night.
