Shopping

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi 65 Lo 44 -- It was a chilly night, but our little ceramic heater kept us warm without turning on the furnace. It's only going to be cold a couple of days. I wish Alaska and Canada would keep their cold fronts to themselves and not pass them to the lower 48.

Since we're not moving for awhile we're trying to get into somewhat of a routine. I get up a couple hours after Jim. He reads his emails and news feeds and watches the news before I get up. I grab a cup of coffee, check outside to see what's going on, read my emails and blogs. It's amazing how fast the mornings go, and it's noon before we know it.

After lunch we decide what to do for the day. I wanted to find the sunblocker for the awning today so we started out with that in mind. We checked the one local place we were told they custom make them, but they said they didn't. The next stop was Walmart to see if they had any in their camping section. No luck. So we got some groceries while we were there.

We're finding out that most parks we stay at don't have a picnic table at the site. Jim has been wanting some kind of table to keep set up outside to put the grill on, and to set things on when working in the basement compartments. Walmart has a nice folding table that we bought today. It folds in the middle and is very sturdy when it's set up. We got a 5-foot long one, the middle of three different sizes. It's big enough to hold the grill, and also to eat on.

We're still in search of the sunblocker. We have a few more places to look tomorrow.

Lots of flea markets have stalls that will make the sunscreens. There are probably some flea markets in the area. Florida seems to have lots of them.

And we're happy to send the cold air down there to cool you off. It's not fair that we should keep all our fresh air to ourselves! LOL

It is surprising that more RV parks don't have some kind of table at each site. I always loved pulling in and after getting everything leveled and hooked up, sitting at a picnic table with a cold beer and looking over my maps, expenses for the day, etc. That's in warm weather, of course.

You can get the sun screens at any Camping World. They are made to slip into the slot on your awning.
