Movie Day

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi 82  Lo 57 -- All night every time I moved I woke up from being so sore from yesterday's bowling. By the time I got up I moved very slowly, but worked out all the kinks except in my knees. I'll get more limbered up this week. I'll pass on bowling for a few weeks.

Today was movie day so we headed to the movie theater at the Lakeside Mall in Sebring. It's so nice not having to travel as far as we did last year from Wauchula. We're only eight miles away now, and it was about 25 miles last year. The movie we saw, Hugo, was a good one. It  was a "heart tugger," and well worth seeing.

After the movie we walked around the mall and came across a dollar type store with bins of all kinds of stuff. It had a flea market vibe to it, and it was neat walking the aisles and checking out all the stuff.

Several people in the park told us about Maxwell's Grove in Avon Park. It's a rustic looking place just east of town and they sell all kinds of citrus fruit fresh picked from their orchards, along with the usual jellies, jams, and sauces. We stopped in on the way home and bought some fruit and - after trying a sample - a half gallon of their orange juice. Their juice is freshly squeezed and tastes sooo much better than store bought juice! It's very smooth and doesn't have that slightly burning sensation that store bought juice has.

Maxwell's Grove Store.

We got home just before dark, got dinner and settled in for the evening.

Your comment about the juice made me think about the news report this week on how they make that store bought orange juice. It was enough to make us never want to buy oj again.

If you want to limber up and not be so sore only miss one week of bowling.
When I belonged to a bowling league we started the first Wednesday following Labour day. Most of the bowlers hadn't bowled all summer and were stiff but ready to bowl the following week. If you leave a two week gap it will be just like starting all overagain.

It's about time.

yep just what Rick and Kathy said.
You know the old saying about getting back on the horse....muscles are the same way.
Never had oranges as good as ones we got at a roadside stand in florida years ago.

Sounds like a great day ~ I am an easy cryer so I usually try to skip those heart tugging movies til they come out at the video store... lol
Have fun & Travel safe
