Evening Fun at the Clubhouse

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi 75 Lo 66 -- Cloudy and a few light showers today. I cleaned out a couple cabinets that needed some attention. I got rid of a few things we haven't used the past two years. I'll continue cleaning out cabinets and compartments a little bit at a time.

Over the last couple of days we received some shipments of Christmas gifts for the grandkids. Only two more are left, and once they get here we'll wrap them and get them in the mail. Little by little it's getting done.

Our neighbor down the row brought by an RV "seating chart" as she calls it. It has the sites and names of everyone in our section of the park. That was really nice. She said she does it every year. I can memorize the names on the chart and then put a face to the names as we meet them. We'll also be set for the block party that will be sometime in next month.

I've added the pictures of our park to the right, under Highlights of 2011. I'll add to them during our stay.

Jim was listening to The Tech Guy podcast on his iPod during his walk, and he heard that last weekend was the 19th anniversary of texting. It's hard to believe it's been going on for that long.

We spent the afternoon surfing the web. I ordered some RV bumper stickers and watched my friend on Latitude as she traveled from NC to Nevada. After dinner we went over to the clubhouse for some entertainment, the Johnny Roberts Comedy Show.

It wasn't exactly Las Vegas quality entertainment, but it was a fun two hours. The guy on the left not only played the banjo, but he was a terrific guitar player. He played the finger-picking style like Chet Atkins.

After the show we returned to our home for some TV watching and online chatting.

You're a busy little girl. I wish I had more energy, I have so much to do. We're going tonight to our clubhouse for our Annual Christmas dinner and dance. It's always so much fun.
