To make a long story short, it was a long day of mostly waiting around, along with many EKGs and blood tests. Jim's condition is "non-symptomatic." In other words, he doesn't have any dizziness, shortness of breath, or feel any heart palpitations, like most sufferers of AT do. So the team of cardiologists (yes, it was a team of three of them; impressive treatment!) decided not to do another cardiovert, and to treat it as an ongoing condition. We were told that about 10 million Americans are being treated for AT, and probably many more have it and don't know it. One of the dangers of AT is an increased risk of stroke or heart attack, due to blood pooling in the heart's upper chamber caused by the arrhythmia. So Jim was given a prescription for Warfarin, a blood thinner. We're not real pleased that he'll be on a blood thinner for the rest of his life, but it's better than getting a stroke or heart attack!
So Jim is fine. He has no limitations on activities or exercising, and his life should continue as normal. We got home around 8pm, so it was a long day. But we're glad the minor scare is over. Hopefully we'll be back to our normal lazy lifestyle tomorrow. :)

I've been on warfarin for almost ten years and no problems.
Chuck has been on it for years, other than monthly blood tests, no problems. Good luck Jin.
So glad everything turned out okay for Jim. Lots of stress so I hope you can relax tomorrow.
What a scary/stressfull day. Glad to hear everything is ok. Once you get adjusted to Warfarin and the therapeutic range your doctor wants it will become easier and shouldn't slow you down.
I hope the Warfarin will take care of the A Fib. I was so glad to find out I didn't have it, but you never know what's ahead. It is amazing that you caught it before he had any severe syptoms. Good luck, Jim.
We're so glad all is well. Now you can relax and take it easy and enjoy the nice Florida weather.
Ohhh so glad you are on top of things and paying attention to his health and noticing it!!! You are such a good wife to snuggle your husband--- you probably just saved his life!
And Mr. Macho Men don't like to be told they are having a health problem when they don't feel anything wrong, so good for Jim to go in and get checked!!!
You two have a LOT of miles to go, so glad you are taking steps to make sure you do.
We love you guys!!!!!!!!
