"Rock and Roll All Night" -- Family Get Together

(Beaufort, NC)  Hi 60 Lo 55 -- Last night we were reminded of the Kiss song, "We're Gonna Rock and Roll All Night." We had 25-35 mph sustained winds, and gusts over 45 mph. It felt like we were in an airliner experiencing heavy turbulence. We got up around 2am to pull in our big full wall slide just to see if it would help. It did, and we both dozed off and on the rest of the night. Sharon and her Jim offered to let us stay in their guest room, but Jim wanted to be with the RV to keep an eye on things. We survived, but now I know what it must be like to live in a houseboat. It's not for me, thank you. I hope the winds die down before we go to bed tonight.

We had a family get together today and it was a house full. The food was awesome! We had roast pork, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, northern beans, and coconut pie and chocolate cake for dessert. What a feast!

Sharon's Jim had guests arrive from Asheboro, NC to visit for a few days. They joined us for dinner and it was great getting to know them.

We visited till early evening, then everyone left with full tummies. The winds are dying down, so it looks like we'll be able to sleep better tonight.

Great food, great family and friends, and great memories. Another great day!

We had 60 mph gusts last night and I know what you mean about not getting much sleep. We also had rain with that wind. Was pretty nasty. Lots of good times and memories for you.
