Moving on South

(Titusville/Mims, Fl)   Hi 80 Lo 67 -- It was a very nice day to move south. A cargo ship left the port this morning while we were getting ready to leave, as if to say goodbye. I hated leaving, but we'll be back. It just may be awhile.

We took our time this morning and didn't get on the road till almost 11:00, since it was only about 140 miles down I-95 to the Titusville area. The trip was routine and rather boring, except we saw a few NASCAR haulers and souvenir trucks heading north from yesterday's race at Homestead.

We were stationed at nearby Patrick AFB for four years in the 70's, so we're familiar with the area. We're looking forward to getting out tomorrow and seeing how the area has changed over the years. Our youngest son Rick was born at Rockledge, about 20 miles south of here, so we're going to get some photos for him of the hospital he was born in.

We arrived at Seasons in the Sun RV Resort about 1:30. It's a beautiful park! We have full concrete pads, full hookups (50amp electric, water and sewer), and cable TV if we wanted it (but Jim got our satellite dish up and running). There's lots of room between the sites, and there's a pool, spa, and lots of activities if we were going to be here awhile. But we're here for only two nights.

The clubhouse. There's a pool and spa behind the building.

This view is from the front of our site. Our kind of park... roomy and wide open!

The regular price here is $35.00 per night, but we got the Passport America rate of $17.50, which is a real bargain! However, our total for two nights came out to just under $45.00. Turns out they add a $3 per night "electricity" fee on top of the regular rate. That brings it to about $20.50 per night (plus tax). Still a bargain, but a little deceiving. We also had to pay cash which a first for us.

We decided to eat out tonight and we were both hungry for pizza. Our Garmin GPS found us a place down at the next exit called Kelsey's Pizzeria. It sure was good! We love it when we find a good independent pizza place. The pies are usually so much better than Pizza Hut and Dominoes and all the other chains. After stuffing our selves, and bringing some leftover slices home, we settled in for some relaxation, TV and chatting.

Looks like a very nice place! We've run into the "cash only" for PA a few times. I guess it's their way of saving a few cents on processing fees. I really dislike the "add-ons" many tack on though. Extra for 50 amp, extra if you have electric heat, extra if you have a w/d. It gets a little ridiculous.

Cash discount or cash only is becoming more popular. The amount merchants have to pay the processing centers and credit card companies on credit cards is getting point merchants have to raise prices to pay these fees. And would think it would be too risky for them to accept checks since RV'ers are generally not local.
Looks like a great place...lots of room between. I like that
