A Day at Home

(Beaufort, NC)  Hi 62 Lo 50 -- It felt so good not to have any commitments today. I started with the usual morning emails, then got caught up on some blogs. I still have a lot more to catch up on, but at least it's a start. It's fun reading about everyone going to their winter destinations.

I did get the freezer defrosted and the drawers under the refrigerator re-organized. I made an inventory of the contents so I can keep track of what we use and what I need to replace. It will help me avoid over spending on groceries by buying something I'm not out of. I think that goes with getting older, not remembering what we have and don't have in the cupboards and refrigerator.

Lately I've been putting things away or in a box and then later having trouble finding it. It's getting so much worse. When we left Raleigh I put my computer card reader somewhere, and now I can't find it. It's around, but I sure don't know where.

I played computer games and Jim caught up on news on his computer. We had soft music on in the background and just enjoyed being lazy today. I did get the October budget done. The only thing we overspent on was eating out.

I fixed dinner tonight, which felt good for a change.  Sharon is working nine hour days so we're not bothering her till she has a day off. We remember how those working days can tire you out. Tomorrow we'll probably get out. We need to re-fill one of our propane tanks, and I need to pick up some groceries. Kind of boring stuff, but hey... boring is good sometimes!

So you arent alone in the that boat.

We have an excel sheet that has our two food storage totes and the little storage bin just outside the door of the motor home. I cross things off as I use them and add things when I buy things. It is so helpful when it comes to planning meals and not over buying of things.
