We arrived in the Jacksonville, Fl area around 2:30. Those who have been following our blog know we love Mayport Naval Station. But on the way there is a BIG BRIDGE. I didn't dig holes in the steering wheel with my fingernails this time, but I still wasn't at ease.
Going up
Going down. It's just not the same in pictures. I always white knuckle it at this point.
We got a front row site facing the water like we did the last couple times we've been here. We've been here three times before, so I'll try not to take too many pictures of ships this time. :)
But I can't resist this one. It was leaving port this evening.
It's the beginning of a wonderful week here on the St. John's river, where civilian ships from the Jacksonville port share the same channel with Navy ships. It's amazing.
We're looking forward to watching the young sailors run by our site on their fitness runs. And we're also looking forward to spending time on the nearby beach.

Can't have too many pictures of ships in my opinion.
Glad you arrived there safely ~ we were at the base this summer but not to camp... I went with my cousin who retired from the NAvy. Hope you have a great time there!
Travel safe
