(NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC) Hi 74 Lo 54 -- Up and on the move this morning. Luckily it wasn't real early. We're so glad we had my car this month. I've put 1500 miles on it since we've been here. I can't imagine both of us doing all this running with just the truck. Also, mom wouldn't have been able to climb in and out of the truck. Having the second vehicle costs us more, but it's sure worth it sometimes.
We picked up our beautiful daughter-in-law Laura at the airport this morning. She flew in from Chicago to spend some time with her friend Heidi, who drove over from Charlotte. They're going to the Carolina Hurricanes game against the Blackhawks tomorrow night. We're going to the game too, but unfortunately we got our tickets at different times so we'll be sitting separately from them. We stopped at Wendy's for lunch, then did a few little errands on the way to see mom. We didn't tell mom Laura was coming, and she was really surprised and pleased to see her. We headed back to the fairgrounds and, thanks to some telephone coordination between Laura and Heidi, we arrived almost the same time that Heidi arrived. from Charlotte. We sat in the RV for a while and talked, then went out to dinner at Captain Stanley's, a local seafood place, to introduce Laura to some good southern calabash seafood.

After a wonderful dinner we came back to the RV and said our goodbyes. Heidi made reservations at a nearby hotel, so they took off to spend their "girl time" together. Thanks Laura and Heidi for including us in your visit to Raleigh!
We went to the apartment to pick up the rest of mom's crafts and take them to a friend of ours, who has a buyer for them at her workplace. We also left the apartment keys at the office. They'll do the move-out inspection tomorrow morning. It was another whirlwind day, but we got most everything done.
We got back to the RV in time for Jim to watch his Cardinals in the World Series. I'm glad to have the apartment done. Mom seemed to be ok today after her move to another room. She's having trouble finding things since other people moved stuff for her. I'm going over tomorrow to reorganize things and get the little stuff put in boxes so she can handle it easier. We're getting down to crunch time, but we're going to make it just fine.
