Apartment Almost Empty

(NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC)  Hi 71 Lo 44 -- It's cold at night but warms up nicely during the day. It's great for the fair, there's been lots of people going this year. We usually have very cold rainy weather for the fair. We're still enjoying the fireworks at night, but not the traffic when we want to go somewhere.

We both slept late, we didn't have any time constraints today. We went to mom's apartment to load up the craft items she picked out to keep and took them over to her. I rearranged her shelf space and found places for most of the items. We left boxes for her to go through and take out anything she doesn't want to keep. She doesn't have enough room for everything. She didn't do well yesterday at the apartment trying to decide what to keep, so we figured she'd be more comfortable going through the stuff by herself over the weekend. Whatever she doesn't want to keep we'll try to sell. We're finally at a stage that seems more manageable. The only thing left is to clean up the apartment and clear stuff out of the refrigerator. We'll be done before Friday, but it's still going to be a very busy week.

This is what's left to sell, rubber stamps, cardstock and ink pads.

We were invited to dinner at our friends Clara and Jim. They were my work bosses a long time ago, and we've remained friends all these years. Clara prepared a wonderful Italian dinner, which we enjoyed along with plenty of wine and good conversation. Thanks you two for a great evening.

Tomorrow we plan to stay around the rig and relax with computers, football, and NASCAR.

I think that's a good idea to let Mom go through the things in her new apartment. That has to be more calming for her than the almost empty apartment. It will be so nice when this is all behind you and you can just visit Mom and have nothing to do.

Wish I was there, I'd love to get back into stamping. My stepdaughter makes lovely cards.

ahhh a light at the end of the tunnel, huh?

Your mom is so lucky to have someone managing this all for her. You and Jim are earning your halos!
