(Millersburg, IN) Hi 77 Lo 54 -- Perfect weather. Today was travel day. Before we left Jim got a callback from an RV park in Florida that he tried to contact on Saturday. We visited Adelaide Shores RV Resort in Avon Park last winter and did a drive-thru to check it out. It's a fairly large park on a good sized lake, with a heated swimming pool and lots of activities. It's our kind of park, very open with pave roads, concrete patio pads, and closer to town than Little Charlie Creek RV Park in Wauchula, where we stayed last year. They had four sites left for this upcoming winter season. We reserved a site for four months (Dec thru March). It'll be nice to drive only three or four miles to go to a movie, instead of 25.
We dumped our tanks at the dump station and pulled out at 10:30, headed for Millersburg, Indiana. The morning Chicago rush hour was over by then, thankfully. There was still quite a bit of traffic, and so many trucks! But we set our cruise for 5 mph under the speed limit and stayed in the right lane like we usually do, and the trip was very smooth. We arrived at the Carriage factory courtesy park in Millersburg around 1:45. We're here to have some work done on our rig before the warranty runs out in December. It's nothing serious. About a year ago we had water get into our underbelly from the city water hose input and ruin all the insulation. We took it to the dealer where be bought it and they repaired the leak and replaced all the insulation. They didn't do a very good job. Over time the insulation has shifted and is causing the fabric cover on the bottom to sag. So the factory is going to re-do it all for us. There's also a few other minor items that they agreed to take care of for us.
The courtesy park here is very nice. Full hookups (including sewer), all pull-thru sites, and a great price... free! When we arrived there were a few spots left. You're allowed to stay here for as long as you want, as long as you own a Carriage product. Such a deal! It's neat seeing all the Carriages in the park. We better not do any drinking this week, we might wander into the wrong rig. :)
We love it here in the Elkhart area. It's close to my childhood home, so I'm real familiar with the area. We have a lot planned this week. My nephew is in the area so we'll be meeting up with him this week too.

Glad you found a better park closer to the action!
Nice to get those things taken care of. And you have your spot in Florida for the winter - that is super news.
Be sure and squeeze in a trip to the Rise n' Roll. Good Luck on yopur repairs.
We are currently in Michigan and did the Soo Locks yesterday. We are working our way towards our dealer in Trenton Michigan (M&M Camping Center) for some warranty work in late August before our warranty runs out. Then it is off to Joliet where we will try the Leisure Lake Campground and visit my wife's nephew and his family.
We have written down Adelaide Shores in Avon Park for our trip to Florida. This winter we are headed back to Goodyear AZ.
