Major RV Cleaning - Car and Truck Wash

(Oconto, WI) Hi 79 Lo 66 -- The humidity is up again, which made it feel a lot warmer then it really was.

The first thing I did today was make a rhubarb pie. Karen got some fresh grown rhubarb from a neighbor and I picked up some strawberries.  So with all the ingredients on hand, I got it done.  I hope some of you don't faint, it's the first pie I've made in 18 months.  We had it for dinner and it was very good. I guess I haven't lost my touch.

I wanted to get the RV cleaned up inside before it got too hot this weekend. Jim wanted to get the truck washed and cleaned up, and while he was at it he washed the car.  Karen and Steve are gracious enough to let us use their water. There aren't very many parks that will let you wash vehicles.

During the afternoon we did a thorough cleaning of the interior of the rig. We moved all the furniture and took out the screens to clean them.  Jim removed the blades of the ceiling fan so I could scrub them.  I even shampooed the carpet after a thorough vacuuming with Karen's powerful upright vacuum cleaner.  It's looking like a brand new RV, on the inside at least. We plan to spend a day early next week cleaning the outside. It sure needs it!  It was real humid so we put on the AC for awhile, but we only have 20 amps of electricity and it sounded like it was straining a little, so we didn't leave it on for long.

We went over to Karen and Steve's for dinner, then sat and talked all evening.  I'm already sore, so tomorrow we'll probably take it easy and maybe do a little sightseeing.

Good job and a job well done. We are Owensontheroad parents, or at least Laurie's Mom and Dad.

And... might I add... that pie was DELIGHTFULLY DELICIOUS!!!!!

The crust was light and flaky, fully cooked on the bottom and came outta the pan perfectly. The filling was wonderfully sweet and perfect with the slightest rhubarb tang but the fruity flavor it just MELTED in your mouth!

(Steve is very glad the other half of the pie is in OUR fridge in the house... or else Jim might eat it all up!!!)
