Errands - New Friends

(Raleigh, NC) Hi 81 Lo 62 -- Jim ordered his new tires and wheels this morning from Trailer Tire & Wheel Supermarket.  This site was highly recommended, and he was impressed with their expertise and customer service. He ordered four Goodyear G115 LHT Load Range H tires, size 215/75R17.5H, mounted and balanced on  17.5" Aluminum Hi-Spec Series 03 Trailer Wheels. The load capacity for each tire and wheel is 4,850 lbs. We're actually limited to 3,500 capacity per wheel because we have 7,000-lb axles. But our weight on each individual wheel is well under that, so we have plenty of "cushion" with these tires. (Sorry for the pun.) He arranged to have them shipped to Piedmont Trucking Co. in Raleigh. They should arrive there Wednesday, and Piedmont will bring them to our site and mount them on our RV on Thursday.

I went to mom's mid morning to help her with some more paper shredding. On the way I dropped off my laptop at our friend Jeff's for him to reformat it and install Windows 7 Pro. Later mom and I went to Raleigh to a Goodwill store that we've heard so much about. It's huge and very well laid out. I did find a fancy white blouse and mom found a lightweight sweater that she's been wanting for quite some time.

Jim went to have lunch with his mom and Aunt Roberta. The two sisters are in Raleigh this week to house sit for his aunt's kids while they're on vacation. After visiting with them for a while he had to leave to go to Cary for an eye exam. We're both trying to get all our medical appointments out of the way for another six months.

Around 5pm we went to meet Budd and Merrily for dinner.  They found us in the RV-Dreams community and have been reading our blog for quite some time. They live in North Raleigh in their 1999 King Of The Road fifth wheel while they're selling their house. Once the house sells they're looking forward to hitting the road full time. Budd owns a heavy duty truck (HDT), and Jim's looking forward to checking it out when we visit their place this Thursday. It's so great meeting new friends! Thanks guys for a great evening.

We came back to the RV and settled in for the rest of the evening.

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
