(Wauchula, FL) Hi 84 Low 60 -- Both of us were very restless all night, no reason, just one of those nights. It's OK, nights like that happen, and we didn't need the rest because we didn't do much today.
We both did a lot of reading today. Jim read a book on his Kindle and I read blogs. I traveled to all kinds of places (in my mind) by reading other RV'ers' blogs. It's amazing the variety of locations of everyone. Some are on the road, some at home. It's raining, snowing, and a lot of people of mentioned the Super Moon last night. I keep a list of places we want to see, and I added to it today based on what I read.
I had a nice online chat with my mom today. She has had trouble with her PC and getting her Yahoo page to work. Our friend Jeff went over to her place the other evening and did some adjusting to her settings and today it came right up. Thank you Jeff for fixing it for her. Then friend Gary came online and we played around with Skype. I tried Skype one time with our son, but it wasn't working right. It turns out my cam was way out of whack so Gary was able to lead me through setting it up correctly. Thanks Gary.
I also backed up all the pictures we've taken the last couple months. I have to remember to do that regularly. We have a separate hard drive we use for back up, and I also keep our most important photos on a 4gb flash drive.
Along with all the reading and chatting, we watched the NASCAR race from Bristol, TN. It's one of my favorite tracks. One day we'd like to go to that race, it's on our bucket list.
Florida trivia: Origin of the name "Florida" - Spanish for the word "flowery". Juan Ponce de Leon landed on the shores of Florida in April 1513. He called the area "la Florida" in honor of Spain's Eastertime celebration "Pascua Florida" (feast of the flowers).
16 days till we head North.

We were lucky enough a few years ago to go to Bristol. Not only did we see the race but we actually watched the Nationwide from the NASCAR Suite...what a Suite Saturday that was, we wrote a blog about it.
It was our first experience at a short track, we were so use to Daytona, Phoenix, Las Vegas and much longer tracks, but what a great adventure we had.
It is so nice watching races now, knowing we have been there, done that. This year we have a few more set up to go to, Michigan, Indianapolis, and Phoenix...hoping to add a few more as well.
I highly recommend Texas Motorspeedway. Very fan friendly facilities.
And Darlington -- before someone decides it should go away. Darlington is old timey NASCAR.
We've never been to a NASCAR race yet but we're with you-if we do it will be either Bristol or Martinsville. Love the atmosphere of the short track.
