Goodbye To Our Visitor - Full Day of Racing

(Wauchula, FL) Hi 89 Lo 66 --  Before I go any further with today's blog, I forgot something in yesterday's blog that is very important. I want to wish my mother a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  She was 88 yesterday.  I'm sorry for not posting it yesterday, I forgot with all the excitement of meeting with Dave.

Both of us were restless last night and we got up earlier than normal this morning. Jim got tired of rolling around so he got up at 6:30, and I dozed a bit but also gave up and got up at 8:15.  Dave our visitor came over for breakfast at 9:30. I cooked up some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. We visited awhile, then Dave wanted to gas up his truck for his trip to Ocala today. Jim helped him unhitch so he could drive to Walmart for diesel fuel. He returned a little while later and got hitched back up and ready to move out.

We showed Dave how we use our "stick" to line the truck up to the hitch.

After our goodbyes Dave pulled out and got on his way to Ocala.
It was a great visit.  He was going to Ocala so he could take the RV Driving School class (the same class we took a year ago). When he got there he found out his class was cancelled because the instructor had a death in the family. He said he'd post details of his day on his blog. Click here if you'd like to check it out.

I wanted to get our shower stall cleaned up and put some Rain-X on the glass. I was almost done when the propane/CO2 alarm went off. I know Rain-X doesn't contain propane, so I guess it has CO2 in it. Jim hit the reset button on the alarm and asked me why I don't have the ceiling vent open and the fan on. Duh! I opened the vent and once the fan cleared the fumes all was well. It's good to know the alarm works. We bought a couple of those pillow-type vent covers when we went to Camping World, and it's made quite a difference in heat reduction.  I just didn't think to take off the cover and open the vent while I was working on the shower.

Jim watched three races on TV today. He recorded the Formula 1 race from Australia overnight so he watched that when he got up. Then early afternoon he watched the Indycar race from St. Petersburg, and when that one ended the NASCAR race from California was on. A full day of racing. He's such a race fan! I went to play shuffleboard and got home just as the NASCAR race started. We love our Sunday races.

Tomorrow is a big day for us, so we have some plans. Stay tuned.

9 days till we head North.
