Bluegrass Concert - Two Mile Walk

(Wauchula, FL) -- Hi  68  Lo 47 windy - We had a great time last evening at our first bluegrass concert in the clubhouse.   Several people from our park and a neighboring park get together and play different instruments. Here's a short video taken with my little camera, and a couple of pictures.

I've never seen a Dobro guitar before.

After the concert, Gail and Dan invited us over to their motor home for a visit.  Dan is taking flying lessons, and he practices on his PC using the Microsoft program "Flight Simulator."  He has the yoke, foot pedals, and everything.  He demonstrated the system for us and let me and Jim take a turn at the controls. It was fun, and after some good conversation we returned to our home, watched the news and went to bed.

I decided to take a long walk outside the park today.  I walked about a mile down the road and back.  I'm trying to walk a lot more to build up my endurance so I'll be ready to meet up with Sandra in Canada this summer, who walks everyday.

I saw this longhorn steer behind a fence across the highway from the campground.

I went down to the Peace River and remembered I better keep an eye out for alligators. We get them in the park occasionally, so I was watchful and careful where I went.

I did hear some rustling to the right of me and saw a beaver.  I stood real still but when I brought up the camera he took off in the water around that limb.

This is Peace River, looking in both directions.

It was quite windy and the moss on this big tree was flowing in the wind.
I didn't see any snakes or alligators.  I was later told it's a dangerous road to walk on, so I probably won't do it again.  The traffic on the road was bad and they don't move over for you.

We went to play shuffleboard, but the wind was very chilly so I came back home early while Jim stayed and played all three games.  I'm thinking about going to my first Bingo game tonight with Gail.  We'll see how that goes.

Wow, brave lady, you be careful out there! We don't want the gators to get you!

We saw tumbleweeds blowing across the highway today as we drove through New Mexico and thought of you!!

Hugs, C

Those are some talented musicians in your park.

Be careful out there! You need a Gator Repellent Can or something... perhaps another person to walk with? Just remember, you don't have to outrun the gator, just outrun the person you are with.. HEH HEH

(just kidding)
