The scenery was awesome! I think most of you know I drive behind Jim in my little Toyota. I have time to think and today it hit me that one year ago, I was sitting in a chair at work wanting to get outside because it was gorgeous, the typical "spring fever" feeling. Today, I'm going down the road viewing our wonderful countryside with all the trees blooming. I just want to tell those that are hoping to get on the road, to do it. If you have to rent an RV for a month, do it. It's the best feeling you'll ever have in your life. If you're thinking part time, full time, or any time, I recommend it. It's freedom from everything that keeps you chained to one place.
Here are some pictures of the Smoky Mountains (that's Tumbleweed ahead of me):
The last one I wanted to show all the different colors of the trees. Purples, dark green, very light green and sometimes some white. It was really pretty.
We stopped at a rest stop and had lunch. It's great to stop anytime we want where there's room on the side of the road. We pulled into Raccoon Valley RV Park. It's an Escapees park and we had neighbors come out to meet us almost immediately. The place is undergoing construction to improve their sites and clubhouse, so it will be dusty and noisy during the day on Monday. But that's ok, as we're planning to do a little sightseeing while we're here.
This is out our back window. It's a babbling brook, but really it doesn't do much babbling. :)
Looking down the street in front of our home.

Wonderful you are heading west and seeing new sights! Those hills are SO pretty as spring comes to the TN area.
We use the Raccoon Valley campground for visiting with my friends who live near by.

Is it recommended to unhitch every overnight? Does staying hitched up cause any undo wear on the hitch?
How long does it take to hitch/ unhitch and level?
We might be thinking about a fifth wheel instead of a motor home.
