First Time Move in Same Park (O'Fallon, IL)

It is going to rain most of the weekend, so Jim scheduled our home move this morning instead of tomorrow. This was our first time moving in the same park. We hooked up and went to the dump station. That's also a first, we've always had the sewer right beside the RV.  Nothing to report on that job, thank goodness.

We moved to our new spot, another first maneuvering  in between trees, water spigot and the electric box. No problems. Jim is learning and has done very well since our RV class. It didn't take long to do the whole move. We're getting a lot more confident with backing up. It won't be long we'll be going to different state parks with tight spaces and lots of trees. We're on a small slant but the Big Foot system did well in getting us totally level.

Our son was off work today, so he came over to get a pass to get on the base while we're here. Now we no longer have to meet him off base and bring him in.

We had planned on going to the NHRA drag races today at nearby Gateway International Raceway, but with severe storms coming in this afternoon and evening, we decided not to go.  Too bad, that would have been fun.

Jim went with Frank (our son) to a local junk yard to get a jack for our truck that was missing when we bought it.  Jim also wanted to get the rear wheel trim rings removed from the truck to make it easier to reach the valve stems.  The trim rings have smaller holes that make it difficult to reach the valve stems for airing up the tires and connecting the Pressure Pro sensors.  Now, the "naked" wheels have nice large openings to make it easier to reach.

We have moved to the space across the road and it's darker because of all the trees. We're more protected from the wind, rain and hail, but we have to worry about trees coming down.

Our new site.

It's a thick forest, so we're not worried about people looking in our back window.

I also took a few pictures of Scott Lake.

Here's our small park from down the road.
We'll be watching the NASCAR Nationwide race tonight and wait for the storms. I hope it's nothing severe. I wish everyone a safe night and weekend. Lots of storms in the Midwest this weekend.
