We didn't go to the first two RV seminars which were Emotional Aspects of the Full-timing Decision, and Selecting A Home Base & Insurance Considerations. They were mainly for those who are still planning to go full-time, and we're already past that point. We took our time and I made chili for tonight's chili cook off. We also took a walk around the park to check out other RV's. I didn't take any pictures since I didn't have approval for posting, but I did find this cute pair of kites. You can see one kite on the left and the other is the bird that's flying in the wind to the right. Click on the picture to enlarge. I borrowed a picture that was taken last night at the rally of a few of the guys getting together for a poker game with Howard.
We went to the afternoon seminars, which were:
"What Does It Cost To Full-time?" Just wanted to be sure we were on the right track (we are).
"TV Options For RVers" - More information and entertainment for Jim (since we already have a really good satellite set up)
"High Speed Internet for RV'ers" by the Geeks on Tour . Always something to learn in this class.
The fun stuff started at 6:00 with the chili cook off. After the judging, everyone lined up to fill their bowls with their chili of choice, or just take a sample of all of them. There were great desserts, and toppings for the chili. What a great meal!
There were runners taking samples of the chili to the judges.
There were 16 crock pots of chili, so there was plenty to judge.
The entertainment for the evening was a "RV Gadget Show and Tell." Everyone showed off those items, both funny and serious, that they can't live without in the RV. Patricia told about having a rope to measure the slide so they wouldn't get too close to the water/electric pedestal. Howard is holding the microphone for her.
The funniest item was a unique toilet paper holder. Should the toilet paper go down like a waterfall, or do you pull it up from the back side? I didn't get the gentleman's name, but he made a board that turned so the paper went either from the top or bottom, which kept him and his wife happy.
We had a lot of laughs and fun times. It's been a great day and we got back to our home around 9:30 to settle down for the night.

Looks like you are having a good time at the rally and getting some new information! Nice photos!
Thanks for giving us a peak into what goes on at a rally. This is all new to me and I hope to be able to go to one in 2011, with or without an RV!
Just how much does it cost to fulltime? LOL don't answer that publicly....
Don and Cheryl
You are just having TOO MUCH FUN!
