Back to the Dealer - Chilling Out in a Motel

We got up EARLY!  Ok, for those that WORK, it's not that early, but we wanted to be on the road by at least 9:00 to get to the dealer.  The trip was faster and less traffic than we thought it would be, which is a good thing.

We got to the dealer at noon when everyone was leaving for lunch.  We gave the manager our list of things to check and went to Camping World.  We wanted to get some little things that we haven't been able to find.  I did find a refrigerator fan that will help with my loaded refrigerator.  It's not full most of the time, but when it is the circulation would be better with the fan.

We checked into a motel and Jim called the dealer about 5:00.  The Bigfoot leveling system is now fixed. There is a little step light that fell out of the socket and it just wouldn't stay in, and that's also now fixed.  The leak was diagnosed as a broken fitting behind the city water connection.  The fitting is fixed, but they had to take the bottom covering off and remove all the soggy insulation and let everything completely dry out overnight.  Tomorrow they'll install new insulation and hopefully we'll be on our way no later than mid-day.

We are chilling out and reading blogs, getting our next campgrounds in line and watching TV tonight. Nice leisurely time.  We're headed to the St. Louis area and Chicago for the summer to spend time with our family.  Then it's off to the Escapees Escapade in Goshen, Indiana in September, then back south to NC and Fla.   That's the "plan that's in jello" for now.

I'm relieved you had the leak taken care of. If they are unnoticed or left too long, they can cause devastating problems.

I'm beginning to think buying new is a good idea when I see how many repairs are required, not only by you but others. If you buy used from a private party, I guess you get stuck with all of the problems. Maybe if you buy used from a dealer you can get some warranty.

I think we are thinking more in the direction of motor home rather than fiver.

Will you be making a leasurely trip north?, lots to see in the St Louis area, We live about 40 miles west in Dardenne Prairie Mo. depending on which way you come into the area there are plenty of campground options. Let us know if you need a recommendation. Glad to here you are slowly getting your rig fiexed, like Gypsy said, water problems are to be avoided at all costs. Be safe out ther. Sam & Donna..

Oh you will like that fridge fan! We have one and keep it on the lower shelves as the cold settles down, and this fan circulates it back up again. I tend to overpack my fridge too at times, so I try to space things near the centers of the racks and let the air space run up the sides, backs and front of each rack.
