It's All About Music

I thought I’d give an update on the U2 concert last night. We left at 5:00 to get something to eat then on to NC State University stadium. We were in traffic about 1/2 hour and finally got parked. The walk was fairly close. People had been there most of the day because of all the tailgating parties going on. Some really neat backyard games people play is great to see.

The crowd was mostly a lot younger than us but there were several people there were our age and you could tell during the whole concert the young ones stood and the older ones sat.

The first group was called MUSE. The sound was horrible, all base and couldn’t hear the singers. It was 45 minutes of just being blasted. At that point I had lost my hearing. At the break between bands people with yellow vests came on and took off all the Muse instruments and setup for the U2. Now that was something to watch. There’s were 4 seats with cameras crews that were strapped in on each leg of the contraption that was in the middle. They were hoisted up into the leg and just hung there. That was awesome to watch. The activity for setup was fun to watch and by 9:30 the concert started.

There was a full moon which just added to the night. Temps were in high 70’s with clear skies. What a great night. We’ve seen a ton of concerts in our life, this rates fourth, with ELO being first, Neil Diamond second, Cher as third then U2. It was LOUD and and booming, I think we’re getting too old for the concerts. :-)

We have another concert in two weeks. It’s the Australian Pink Floyd. That will be indoors. I’m sure glad it didn’t rain.

I searched for my hand mixer and found it. I got all the bags and boxes ready for the VETS pickup tomorrow. The afternoon was watching the race.

I talked to the apartment gal and they know we may leave early, just have to make it official when we get the 5er in our possession.

Working days to quit work 44
This countdown is only for WORKING days.

The last concert I attended was Dire Straits. The loudness didn't bother me as much then, but the clouds of smoke were too much, lol.

we are also getting ready to full time - its is very nerve racking, but I know we should do it earlier, rather than far down the road - my retirement date of August 01/2012 will not be met, because we are organizing to go way earlier!

Was wondering how the concert was! Missed you in chat last night.

Last 2 concerts I went to were Fleetwood Mac and Celtic Woman. WOW! Oh. and I think there is a TransSiberia Orchestra in there too somewhere.

If the music is too loud I cannot stay. It happened to me at a wedding. It actually hurt my ears although the rest of the wedding was great.
