Getting Behind

Typical Monday morning, I woke up at 4:30am and couldn't get back to sleep. It's still the one hour thing, it was actually 5:30 and I have to wake up before the alarm goes off so it doesn't scare me to death.

I got to work first today and it was already 5 till 8. The office was a mess. Both bosses had been there all weekend and left at 4am this morning without much of a break. A job had to go out this morning and the boss was taking it down East to a client. He was gone for the whole day.

My job was getting things back in order and clean up paperwork. It never got done in the five hours I was there. I had to get all the resumes off the email and get it sorted out and on a spreadsheet and there were 40 of them. I had to put some books into binders, answer the phone, file papers and fax out bids to contractors. It was busy.

I left at 1:00, picked up mom, and went to a nearby retirement home that's being built. A really neat young guy was in charge of the place. It's very expensive for someone retired but the room is huge and super great. They will also have meals and activities and nursing staff on site 24/7. I don't want to move mom, but we wanted to see what this place would be like. We'll have to find another solution if needed, but for right now, she's fine where she is and it's a great place. We got our weekly groceries and then went back home.

If all goes well, we should have some news in the next couple days. I'll leave you in suspense.
