Day 11 Finally Home - RV Choice & Summary

We just couldn't get up at 7:30 but made it by 8:00. Another good nights sleep with no interruptions. We were on the road at 9:00 after a great breakfast. It was only one hour and half to Carolina Coach RV Sales in Claremont, NC. Just east of Hickory. It's huge! We wanted to check out the Carriage MAX1 that Joe & Sheri (Speedy and Speedsgirl) told us about. We went into the Carriage Carri Lite Emerald, but just wasn't what I like in the layout, plus way too fancy and expensive. Then we looked at the MAX1. That's it, the "IT" factor.

Now for the summary of the trip.

It was great! We did a total of 2321 miles, average 18.7 mpg which we thought was great for a truck.

The instrument panel in the truck is still working but did go out a couple times along the way, so that will be checked out.

We learned from the kids that they're moving and we got to see their new place. They will also take quite a bit of our furniture. We took the treadmill, it did get a little wet but it was the walking part of it and it dried and it works. They're set with that and it gives us more room in the extra bedroom. I can workout with the equipment at work.

We learned a lot from the seminars at the rally and met with many people that have been on chat for a full year. Thanks to Howard & Linda from RV-Dreams for a great time and successful rally. We're hoping for another one.

We got home at 3:30. Mom is ok and everything is fine. It's been hot and no rain for a month so we're almost back to drought again.

The rest of the evening was laundry, catching up on emails, blogs and back to the chatroom. All pictures have been uploaded. IF you want to see more from the rally, the www.rv-dreams.com will have them.

Looks like you will be one year behind me. I'm not positive about full timing (the DW isn't thrilled about leaving her church) but after 37 years my last day at work will be 3/31/2009.
