Tiki Bar - Breakfast and Beach - Birthday Lunch

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 82   Lo  69)

Mother's day seems months away, but this week's blog starts with Sunday and it was Mother's day. It was a super great day. I heard from both boys which is always a plus. The luncheon was really good in the dining room.

Here's a few photos. (Click photo to enlarge).

I like this picture of the walkers coming to the commons for lunch.

People picking up to go lunches
The line before going in. We were the second shift. The place was packed.

Resting after eating was a great idea. My neighbors, Anne and Del
After lunch we went to the new Tiki bar on Hurlburt Air Field. It's right on the bay and a beautiful place. The weather was perfect.
Ellen, Lane, Dee, Kathy enjoying a drink.

You can rent boats/pontoons
Sand dune on the other side. Past that is the gulf
Brand new housing for military

Monday I went with Sheila to Asiagos Skillet for breakfast. It's on Okaloosa island and a very good place. She knows the area and has been to several restaurants that are better than others. We try to get out once a month.
They have an area of decorations that is really neat.

Then we went to the beach. It was so gorgeous. 80 degrees with a breeze. We found a public place to park and just enjoyed the views and waves.

Tuesday  I played "beat the clock". I love Tuesdays. I had diamond art then took a person to the airport, came back for wellness class, had a zoom class then worked on a puzzle. It was rainy most of the day so I didn't get out. I played cards at night then back on nightly zoom.

Wednesday was another busy day. I went to a seminar on mental health for half hour. I got home in time for a noon zoom class. I was on tiktok as a moderator, then another zoom with some great friends. Cards in the evening and ending with survivor.  No time to waste.

Thursday started with my class "Circle of life".  I'm trying to get people in a group to talk about the paperwork to get done before you pass. I also do an open forum to talk about thoughts when you pass what do you expect, there's no proof of anything but talk about dying/death to live better. We're all going to pass, be comfortable talking about it.

For lunch we went to Ruby Tuesday to celebrate Del's 89th birthday. Dee, Kathy, Del, Rosie.
When we played cards we had a cake for Del.

Friday started with Tiktok, then the afternoon was working on a puzzle with Del.
I had the NC zoom in the evening and on to the nightly zoom.  I have more friends on my zooms then in person, love it.

Saturday was a perfect day to clean up outside. The patio needed some attention and the apartment was in need of some cleaning. I was yakking with the gals outside and one of the neighbors needed some help with groceries. I got them taken in the apartment then I worked on the puzzle and made one of my meals.  Happy hour was at 5 and I was home by 8. The storm chasers are back out for severe storms in the Midwest so watching them on Youtube.

Some extra things:
A tiny little puzzle that Del put together. Her son and wife went on a cruise and it was on the ship. It's postcard size and so cute.

Del got her first lighthouse done before I got mine done. I'll post as we finish them, but there's eight total.
I think it's time to replant my peace lily It's huge.
