Rummage and Bake Sale - Craft Fairs - Symphony

Shalimar, FL  (Hi  82  Lo 65)

All week long there's been a bustle of activity in our village. We had a bake sale on Friday and Saturday along with rummage sale for both the residents and outside of the campus. This is a yearly thing and a lot of people get involved. I had a very busy week along with everyone else making baked goods along with the normal activities.

Monday:  I took a neighbor to the hospital for a heart procedure called Watchman. She was there just to check it out and she's doing fine. Always learning some sort of health stuff around here.

Tuesday:  I went to the diamond painting group. There were less people because of the bake and rummage sale. We still had a couple to sit with, I thought I'd have my picture done this week, but still have quite a few colors to do. I had lunch in the commons (lunchroom) then on to meditation. We do topics every week and it's so informative.

Wednesday: I had WII bowling and made up the games I didn't do on Monday. I'm staying around 170's, it's up and down by just a few points, but I'm still in the "pro" category. Later in the afternoon I did paint and sip. Several of us did it and had a good time. Wine and paint, this was my result.  (Click on the picture to enlarge).

                                                            I love this witch.

Thursday: I went to crochet group. The group is getting bigger, there's more people coming in from the north. There's several people in the campus that live six months here and six in a northern state. In the evening I took all my baked goods to the lounge and priced and sorted them to take to the lunchroom on Friday morning. We sat outside awhile just talking before retiring for the night. This is a lot of baked goods.

                                                            More baked goods for Saturday
                                                    Rosie is in charge.

I came home before noon and found my box of Hello Fresh meals. This time the box was in great shape and the meat and food was cold. Last week the box was wet and falling apart and food all warm. I have four meals to make up and I have a feeling by looking at the menus/directions it's going to be good. They have a huge selection and all labeled. So far I'm impressed. Let me know if you'd like to try it. I'll keep you posted on taste and convenience of making them. UPDATE:  It was delicious and only took 30 minutes. All the ingredients were included and marked very well. I'm good to go with meals coming to me with everything included.

Saturday:  A couple gals and I went downtown to  Ft Walton Beach and Niceville to the craft fairs. It's been awhile for me and I wanted to see what was being made now days. What a great day. We left at 8:30 and arrived to the first one at 9:00. It was inside and about 60 tables. Most were jewelry and big wreaths. There were several that had ceramic or resin items.  I got some tiny clothespins that can hold up my events paper on the refrigerator.

We headed to Niceville for the next one which was outdoors. It was 82 degrees and very little humidity. A great day to enjoy the craft fair and lots of people were attending. We walked around the first few tents then stood in line at a vendor truck for almost half hour.

These guys were making items with big wood carving machines. They were fun to watch.

This was one of my favorites. I wish I had a place to put it. I have pictures of the things I "wanted" to buy, but I have no where to put it.

                                                            I love the trees.
There's gorgeous trees and lots of room.
Vicki, Debbie and me, with "IT" from Adams Family.

                                                                Gnomes are great this year

The attendance grew as the day proceeded. Several rows of tents.

We got home about 3:00 and I rested a bit, got some dinner, caught up on email and off again to the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra playing War & Peace. This is the statues as you walk in.
I took a picture before it began to show the backdrop of the sponsor.
They have a choir and two of our village residents are in it.
It was just as enjoyable as the St. Louis Symphony. All except the choir director and conductor are volunteers. I'd like to see them again. We were in the balcony seats, besides being cold, it's the best place to sit to see everything that's going on while they play. My favorite, two harps.

Aha ... now I can read the blog. Glad it wasn't my computer acting up. And glad you found the issue.

I don't go to yard sales, etc. Trying to get rid of stuff instead. Maybe I need to have one but most of the STUFF is Len's tools, etc. And he "claims" he needs every one of them.

You keep so busy. Again, you found the PERFECT spot for you.
