Mall of America

(Prior Lake, MN) Hi 77 Lo 55 -- It was cloudy and a couple drops of rain fell so we thought it would be a good day to stay indoors, so we went to the Mall of America, the biggest mall in the U.S. with over 500 stores. (According to Wikipedia, the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania is  slightly larger in area, but has only (!) 400+ stores.) We went to the Mall of America a few years ago on our last trip through Minnesota, but it's a great place to walk, people watch, and browse the stores to see what's new for the winter season. I love checking out the fashion colors for fall/winter. It looks like a lot of black and white this year.

We spent about three hours roaming around, but still only covered two of the three floors. Inside the four, square-shaped wings is a large kids' play area with a Lego World and an amusement park.

I love the play area. I guess I'm still a kid at heart, but watching is the only thing I do now.

Jim is still working with both a local Goodyear dealer and the corporate customer service folks to get some reimbursement for our damaged tire. It looks like we're going to be authorized to buy a new Goodyear tire for a pro-rated price of about $175 (for a $400 tire). The problem is, we bought a new (different brand) tire when we had the flat, so we have four good tires currently mounted. Our original spare is a different size tire and wheel, but the same overall diameter as the larger tires and  wheels we got when we upgraded. Jim is trying to get accurate advice about how safe it would be if we had to use that spare. He's also trying to negotiate a new 17.5" wheel to mount the new off-brand tire we got and use it for a spare, in return for giving the dealer the old spare tire and wheel. Sounds complicated I know. That's whey I'm glad HE's doing all this. :)

See you tomorrow.

I'm surprised you weren't able to find the right size wheel at the Mall of America! ;c)

IT's quite the place to see but then it is only a mall. BUT its the best place for some fantastic people watching from all over the world. Asia flies in flights full of tourists just to stop at this huge mall. You can pick them out by how their all taking photos of everything.
