A Prairie Breeze RV Park

(Menoken, ND) Hi 73 Lo 61 -- This is a small park, with not many amenities, but we like it. It meets our needs for a short stay on our way east. It stays pretty full, mostly with oil field workers in the area. But they leave a few sites open for transients, and it's been full every night. The park is 10 miles east of Bismarck, with no real town nearby. Click on any photo below to enlarge it.

Our site, another nice long pull thru with plenty of room.

The park is mostly gravel, but there is some grass between the sites.

There’s a couple interesting looking RV’s. This one is a semi trailer with  windows and a door cut out. I'd love to see what it looks like inside.

This fifth wheel looks like it was home made. Kind of rough looking up close.

Here's another semi trailer.

We took a drive to Bismarck yesterday to check out the Capitol building. It's not the normal domed Capitol building like you usually see. At 242 feet tall this is the tallest building in the state.

While downtown we also went to the movie The November Man.

It was an action packed spy movie, sort of like a James Bond movie but not as good. (Pierce Brosnan played James Bond in the 90's.) It had a complicated plot (why do action movies have to have such convoluted plots?). It was good, but we would have been ok waiting to see it on DVD.

Tonight we’ll watch the NASCAR race from Atlanta. Tomorrow we’re on the move, so we’ll see you in two days.

I always like to see the different rigs people travel in. On our travels we have seen some mighty interesting looking rigs for sure. Really makes you want to look inside them to see what they are like inside. Thanks again for the pictures.

Those look like oilfield bunkhouses.

I think people are really getting desperate about places to live near the oil fields that will stand up to those ND winters. I was wondering how good that movie would be. I agree with you about convoluted plots.

I thought the same thing. Looks like homemade trailers for the oil drillers.

You aren't far from Jamestown, ND where Al was born. Its a desolate place!

We considered staying there for our days in Bismarck, but ended up at Fort Lincoln State Park instead. We looked for that RV Park as we left the area, but couldn't see it from the highway.

The semi-trailers are oilfield bunkhouses. They are filled with bunks for the workers to sleep in.

We Stayed in Lindenwood RV Park in Fargo. The main driveway into the park was Roger Maris Drive with beautifully groomed grounds an a large area dedicated to his accomplishments.
