J and H RV Park

(Flagstaff, AZ) Hi 74 Lo 38 -- It’s a sunny windy day. We decided to take a break from sightseeing and hang around the park and wait for the new tires to be installed on the truck.

J and H RV Park is very nice. It's a little more expensive than we prefer to pay, but it's convenient to everything we wanted to see in the area. They claim to be the only totally non-smoking RV park in America. They prohibit smoking anywhere on the park property, even inside your rig! I'm not sure how they can enforce a smoking ban inside a person's home. And how would they know? Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen to me. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.)

The bath house/spa/laundry room is right in front of us.

There's a nice community patio with a fireplace, sitting areas, and grill.

Looking down the road. There’s a total of 51 sites.

When we left Phoenix the temps were in the high 90's, very close to 100. Here in Flagstaff it's been in the 70's all week (and well over 100 in Phoenix). Nice! Flagstaff is about 3,000 ft. higher in elevation than Phoenix. It's very dry, with humidity in the single digits. When we go out we always take water with us. Another thing we have to keep an eye on is our sleep number bed. As we gain elevation the numbers go up and the bed gets really hard. We have to readjust it after each move.

We like Flagstaff but we don't like the wind. At least around here we don't get the dust like we did in Phoenix and Tucson.

We met a neighbor in the park today who's been reading our blog. Thanks Ed for stopping by to meet us. We enjoyed talking to you.

We’re traveling to Utah tomorrow, so we’ll post again in two days.

We have to remember to let air out of our sleep # bed too. It gets like a brick up in the higher elevations!

Flagstaff sounds like a nice place to visit. We'll have to get out that way sometime.

Have safe travels to Utah!

Never thought about the effects of altitude on those mattresses. Had an unopened bag of chips that were purchased near sea level and swelled up like a balloon when we went up into he Davis Mountains.

We used to live near that part of Flagstaff. Believe me the wind blows most of the time. When we retied we sold our house there with no plans to return. Becki

Hi

That smoking information will encourage a smoker to move on down the road, some smokers do not smoke inside their rigs.
You should lower the sleep number before traveling and then adjust at the new camping site. There are times that the number could be higher than one hundred, and you do not know that. It can damage your air chambers.

I like the idea of a non smoking campground. We had a neighbor here once that were big smokers. We could smell the stale cigarette smoke inside their motor home, even if they weren't home. They didn't even have to be smelling for us to smell them. It was awful, so we moved!
