Visit from School Friend

(Avon Park, FL) Hi  64 Lo 51 – There hasn’t been a lot happening the past three days. Jim had his lovely time preparing for his colonoscopy, starving to death, drinking a gallon of goop, and sitting on the throne. He came through it fine on Thursday morning. After eating a huge lunch he was back to normal. That’s over with for another few years.

I’ve been crocheting some little items along with the afghans. I wanted something to carry our nickels and dimes for card games besides the glass jar we've had them in. So I took a plastic vitamin jar...


... and crocheted a cover for it.


Now we don't have to worry about our glass jar breaking if we drop it.

Today we had a visit from one of my old school friends, Melba, and her husband Ed. They're on their way from South Florida to Kissimmee, and stopped in on the way. They visited us last winter, and it was great to see them again.


We took them to Jacaranda Hotel for dinner, one of our favorite places. The place is decorated for Valentine's Day.








We came home and they left for the rest of their trip to Kissimmee. Thanks for stopping by Melba and Ed. See you next year.

We later went to play cards with the group.
