(Avon Park, FL) Hi 70 Lo 52 -- It's been humid the last few days but last night another cold front came through with lots of rain. It's been a different winter so far than any of the previous three years we've been here in Florida, cooler and wetter. If the rain continues we'll have to mow our little yard again before long. We didn't do that at all the past two years.
More people are arriving every day from the north. It won't be long before the place is full. It seems like there's more park models for sale than in past years. Some people are selling their RV's and buying a park model, and other homes are vacant, with the owners staying up north.
The park activities are in full swing. We had a another pizza dinner at the clubhouse on Thursday, with the biggest crowd so far. Everyone loves pizza. :) The shuffleboard court is busy, with sessions at 8am and 10am every weekday. There's singing groups coming in this month to entertain at the clubhouse, and two of our favorite things are coming up, the wine and cheese party and the antique car show. We've started a new group for Hands and Foot card games. We had 12 Saturday night playing at the clubhouse, that may increase as time goes on. There's potluck dinners, and a spaghetti dinner that's always great. I'm not going to dominos this year. I'm crocheting more instead. I'm also back walking again. So far so good with the foot that's been hurting.
Jim is keeping up with his walking. He's happy spending his time reading, and he also does a lot of listening to music on his iPod. He's selling some of his collectible knives on eBay, and he bought a new set of headphones with his profits. He's in another world when he's plugged into his music. :)
Today is football. The SF 49ers and the Carolina Panthers are playing. Our oldest son is a huge 49er fan and we'd like to support him, but we're from NC so we're pulling for the Panthers.
That's the latest from paradise. See you in a few days!

Glad to hear you're able to walk again!
I think music is the greatest way for transitioning from one world to the other. Like Jim, I too love my music & surround myself with it constantly.
Sounds like you guys are really settled in and cozy in your winter park!

Sherri and I are planning on heading to the Gulf here in Texas during Spring Break. We were there last year and had a great time. Our trips are a little shorter now but we look forward to them. We should close on our house next week and then we are going to be painting and cleaning for the rest of the winter.
