(Elkhart, IN) Hi 86 Lo 66 -- We both woke up at the same time this morning and got ready to move out today. We went over th the hotel for the Continental breakfast and checked out at the front desk. Getting an RV site here is just like getting a hotel room, with the same registration process. We got hitched up, and after a stop at the dump station, we were on our way on I-80 to Indiana. The traffic wasn't as bad as we thought it would be on a Monday, but there were a lot of construction zones all the way to Elkhart.
It was a smooth trip of only 127 miles, and we were set up by 2:30. We're back in the eastern time zone now.
Elkhart Campground is a big park, with a lot of amenities. We've stayed here before and it's one of our favorites. This photo is from their website.
We're in a nice long pull through with full hookups, and a nice open sky for satellite. We also have WIFI for the first time in a few weeks. We're off the phone connection and not using our minutes.
Some views around us.
I grew up in Warsaw, IN, about 35 miles away, so I know this area well. I'm going to visit a school mate and some other friends that are still in the area. We have several things planned, so come along. Our travels are just starting.

Hi Dee, How long will you be in the Elkhart area? We plan to be at Potato Creek State Park from July 17-21. Our daughter has that week off for vacation so we are spending some time there to see the grandkids. It would be nice to meet since we were unable to do that in Bloomington/Normal. Hope we get that chance. Curt
Found a 2006 Carriage Carri-Lite online that looks pretty good. Sure wish it wasn't in AZ so I could take a quick look... Feel pretty good about the Carriage products based on your experience.
