Last Day in Adelaide Shores RV Resort

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 78 Lo 60 -- Cloudy all day, and we were glad of it. It was a busy one as we did our last preparations for pulling out tomorrow.

Jim washed his truck and removed and stowed the sunscreen on our awning. I visited some friends and neighbors to say goodbye. Some will be back next winter and some are staying up North. I went to Walmart to get my haircut; too bad it keeps growing back. I also got some last minute food stuff that I forgot yesterday.  I took a few pictures of the RV Park now that it’s emptying out.

We now can see the clubhouse again from our site.

This is the noisy night club behind the fence at our back window.

The place is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. They were required to tone down the bass/music (if you can call it that), but when they leave at 2am they rev their car engines, blow horns, and yell a lot. We sure are glad we're moving to another site for next winter.

There’s still quite a few people here in their park models, but only until the end of the month. About forty couples will be staying here all summer. The clubhouse is closed, the laundry is closed, only the pool is open during the summer.

To recap our winter, I kept busy and Jim did some relaxing. Perfect for the two of us. I learned more names of the people and did a lot more with the Happy Hookers, who taught me to do crocheting with intricate thread. I learned how to read patterns and make afghans. Jim didn’t play much shuffleboard but I played with the 10am group quite often. I also played Mexican Train several times. We both played cards in the evenings and became close friends with several people in our card group. In fact, we plan to visit some of them during our travels this summer. We’re looking forward to next winter. We went to several restaurants around the area, most of them very good. We didn’t do a lot of sightseeing this year, but we did meet up with other RV’ers in St. Petersburg a couple times.

I did a lot of walking. A big thank you to Judy and the blog readers for urging me on. I lost 20 pounds since November. I'll continue the walking on our travels.

Thank you to the owners of Adelaide Shores RV Resort for your hard work and helpfulness. We had a great time this season. See you in November.

Tomorrow morning we hitch up and see if Tumbleweed's wheels will move after sitting still for five months. Hopefully our blog posts will start to get a little more interesting. Please follow along with us for more adventures.
