Carolina Clan Rally, Day Four

(Murrells Inlet, SC) Hi 72 Lo 37 – I'll start off today with a complete list of who's here at the Carolina Clan Rally: Ray and Kris, Paul and Marti, Gary and Peggy, Mike and Terri, Rick and Gail, Gin and Syl, Laurie and George, Bill and Nancy, Dan and Tricia, Steve and Evin, Bruce and Laura, John and Ginny, Lee and Martha, Paul and Jill, Nancy and Neil, Hank and Selene, Bob and Pam, and Jim and (yours truly) Dee. Jim's sister Sharon, her boyfriend Jimmy, along with his Mom Alberta and Aunt Roberta are all coming in tonight for the weekend.

We were surprised the heat pump didn’t change over to the furnace last night, which it usually does when the outside temperature dips into the 30's. We stayed warm all night without using up any propane. And by the time I got up and out it was a beautiful day.

Last night around the campfire we had some visitors, of the critter kind. Three raccoons wandered up close to us. I couldn’t get a photo that would come out because of the darkness, but Laurie took this one.

They were picking up crumbs that we left behind. They weren’t afraid of us so they came pretty close to our chairs.

This morning there were people roaming around so we started a small “morning” circle in the warm sun.

After lunch many of the group went for an afternoon of kayaking on the nearby Intracoastal Waterway. You can read and see more of their afternoon on the water on Laurie’s blog. Most of them have inflatable Sea Eagle kayaks. Here’s what they look like before you unpack them.

Great little homemade cart.

This home made carrier is made from PVC pipe. Great idea!

With so many out kayaking the campground was very quiet this afternoon. We walked down to Selene and Hank’s RV and gabbed for awhile, then Selene and I went to the beach and sat for a couple hours.

You’d never know there was a big RV park just beyond this ridge. That’s Selene going back to the campground.

After dinner we again joined the crowd at Gin and Syl's for the evening campfire. What a great time! This week is flying by.

Glad you and the group and having such an enjoyable time. I want to look more into those kayaks. I'm wondering how much they weigh when deflated.

It doesn't look any warmer down there than it is here in Myrtle Beach.
