Waiting on Sandy

(Raleigh, NC) Hi 66 Lo 62 -- I didn't sleep well last night so I got up earlier than usual. Gail, Terri and I went for a nice long walk around the fairgrounds, around 2 1/2 miles according to the Runkeeper app on my smart phone.  It was chilly and breezy, and we're waiting to get rain from hurricane Sandy. It's been very cloudy, but so far no rain. We're right on the edge of the storm as it proceeds north offshore. We saw several RV's come in today, three and four at a time. Maybe they came from the east coast.

I took some pictures of the area. This is Carter-Finley Stadium, home of the NC State Wolfpack football team. It's just north of our campground.

Some overall views of the campground.

Small lake inside the fairgrounds, with a cute little lighthouse.

It was getting cooler and everyone did their own thing today, but for dinner Mike and Terri, and Rick and Gail went with us to Amedeo's Italian restaurant for dinner, where we met up with Hank and Selene. It's a very popular place near the NC State campus. I made reservations and they put us in a private room.

We talked for a couple hours, and had a wonderful time. We're all going to South Carolina next week for the Carolina Clan Rally at Huntington Beach State Park. It was a great evening, and it's so exciting that we'll all be together for the next week.

Looks like Sandy might go further north and you guys won't get hit too hard. Sure hope so.

That looks like so much fun. We've enjoyed Amedeo's Italian food before too...but I try to overlook all that red.

SO this is the pre-CC, CC gathering. Don't use up all your energy, save some for the real CC gathering! ;c)

Newcomers Meeting - Zoom - Emerald Coast Band

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
