(Raleigh, NC) Hi 71 Lo 57 -- We had a leisurely morning, then after lunch we left for Jim's appointment for his eye exam. He had no changes in his eyes since last year, so he got his contact and glasses prescriptions renewed and we were on our way.
We had some time to kill before a dinner date we had, so we took care of a couple of errands. We stopped by Lowes hardware to have a couple of lengths of 2x4 cut to fit the inside top of our slide. That will keep it from coming out during our trip to Myrtle Beach next week. We then stopped at a shoe store so I could buy some new walking shoes. My old ones were badly worn out, causing my feet and legs to hurt. By then it was time to meet our group of friends for dinner. When we lived in this area we had dinner with this same group every Friday night for years. We had a great time laughing and catching up. It was almost like we never left!

Jerry was also with us, but I didn't get a picture of him. After dinner Jerry invited us to his place to see the progress he's made on his train layout in his basement. He's done a lot in the two years since we've last seen it. His latest edition was a switching control board that he built from scratch.
I couldn't get a photo of the whole layout because it's so huge, but here's part of it.
Before we left the RV today I got a phone call from our friend Mike saying he and his wife Terri were coming to Raleigh to join us today. They, along with Rick and Gail, were 'evicted' from their park at Cedar Point on the coast due to Hurricane Sandy coming in this weekend. When we got home from dinner we saw Mike and Terri's Excel fifth wheel parked right next to us. Rick and Gail's motorhome was a few sites away. The four of them were in Mike and Terri's rig and we joined them for a couple of hours of fun conversation. Soon Peggy and Gary joined us; they also arrived today. They are all from the RV-Dreams group. We plan to get together more this weekend.

When we leave here all of us are going to a Carolina Clan get together in South Carolina. This was kind of a preview of that event. Finally around 10pm we all went home. What a surprisingly wonderful day with great friends!
