(Raleigh, NC) Hi 85 Lo 52 – We both had places to go today. Jim went to Raleigh to have lunch with an ex-coworker, and I was picked up by my friend Liz to go to lunch and spend some time with her. Liz and I went to Seaboard Café in Raleigh. It used to be a train station. The sandwiches are made from scratch and the salads are very fresh. I had a tuna melt that had cranberries in it, adding a great flavor. There's also a small nursery in the same building as the cafe.
Pool of fish.
Lots of flowers and plants
After our great lunch we went to Liz’s house. She and her husband recently bought a 4-wheel ATV and invited me to take a ride on it. That’s my first time riding an ATV, what a blast! It had four gears, but I only got to second. It's very fast!
We went shopping at a thrift shop, then she brought me back to the RV. Thanks Liz for a wonderful time today.
This evening we had dinner with Clara and Jim, our good friends who helped us last year when we moved mom from her apartment to an assisted living facility. It was great spending some time with them and catching up on what’s going on with each other.
Thanks guys for a great evening. See you next year.
We went back home and settled in for the evening. It’s been a fun day with wonderful weather. Speaking of weather, at the moment Hurricane Sandy is heading toward the northeast. We should be OK here in Raleigh, and we're very glad we’ve moved inland from the coast. We’ll be watching closely for any problems going to Myrtle beach next week.

Your sandwich sounds good. One of my favorite sandwiches is chicken salad with cranberries in it (and walnuts). There's just something about those cranberries that gives it a special flavor :)
It's been a few years since we were at the Seaboard. Logan's is a great place for plants too. What happened to the weather this morning? It's chilly.
It is such a joy to reconnect with friends. Sounds like a great lunch spot. Stay safe.
