Hastings and a Movie

(Hastings, NE) Hi 86 Lo 73 --  We visited with Terri and Mike for awhile then decided to go to a movie. Before we went to the theater we checked out downtown Hastings.  They have little statues on some of the street corners in the downtown area. (Click to enlarge).

There’s a small cookie shop a couple blocks from the theater, so we stopped in and had a snack. They’re really good moist cookies.

We saw the movie Rock of Ages. It's a musical set in 1987, with lots of music from the 80's. It was a fun movie, and Tom Cruise did a great job as a rock star. We all liked it.

It was after 6:00 when the movie was over, so we went to El Toro, a local Mexican restaurant, for a tasty dinner. After we got back to the RV Terri and Mike stayed and watched Oh Brother Where Art Thou on DVD. It's one of our favorite movies.

It was a great day to be with our friends.

Talking about the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou, is great. When I had the campground a few of the campers acted out the Soggy bottom boys and did a wonderful time at karoake. Will have to show you the video next winter in Florida. At the time they even sold autographed pictures to raise money for JDRF.

I'm glad to hear you liked the movie Rock of Ages- I've been considering seeing it, mostly out of curiosity to see Tom Cruise play a different sort of part than he usually does. "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" is hilarious too, in a very different way.

Sounds like a fun day. Maybe we will check out Rock of Ages this weekend when we journey to Bismarck for a civilization fix!
