Racing Day, NASCAR Nationwide Series

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 73 Lo 65 -- I had planned to go to the pool today, so of course it was cloudy, cool, and windy. The water in the pool is  kept at 86 degrees, but I like the weather hot if I'm going to get wet.

Here's some pictures of our new car, or check the right side of the blog under 2012 Highlights.

Yesterday Jim signed us up for Good Sam's extended warranty for our RV. That was one of the most difficult decisions we've had to make. Our factory warranty expired this past December and it took us this long to finally decide to go with an extended warranty. It's another expense, but now if anything goes wrong it will cost us no more than $200 to have it repaired. The coverage is pretty comprehensive, so we're happy to have the peace of mind.

We spent the afternoon watching the Nationwide race from Daytona. What a race! There's no way of knowing who's going to win at Daytona, they race so close and all the cars are so equal. Jim says it's like musical chairs... the one in the lead when the music stops is the winner. Today the top 5 or 6 cars at the front all crashed together right before the checkered flag and a guy named James Buescher came from about 7th place to get his first NASCAR victory. It's very exciting, but I sure wouldn't want to try to pick a winner ahead of time. It'll be more of the same for the Daytona 500 tomorrow, and we'll be watching. I'm rooting for Jeff Gordon and Jim's rooting for Tony Stewart. (And Danica Patrick. She crashed out today by the way.)

Jim went for his walk and I did some exercises. Now we'll see if I can get up in the morning.  It was one of those relaxing days with nothing pressing to do.

We have used Good Sam's warranty several times and found them to be great. Not like others who will argue with you. Good luck with new car and your travels.

Definitely a good decision to go with the extended warranty. We were sure glad we had it. Sure hope Danica makes it all the way through the race tomorrow but I'm thinking there are going to be many, many crunches. We, of course, are Dale Jr fans.

I'm with you - Jeff Gordon is my favorite. Hope the race gets in today-weather is questionable.
