The Games People (RV'ers) Play

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 79 Lo 45 -- Another glorious day in our part of paradise. We're having a great time with all our new friends. I spent the morning playing computer games and online chatting. People say I need to get a life. Well, now with all the new friends we've met we're getting out more and our "social calendar" is filling up fast.

After lunch Jon and Kathleen picked us up, and Rick and Elaine followed us to Dennis and Pat's house in Sebring. They're the ones who used to live here in the park and then bought a house. They took advantage of the down real estate market and bought a very nice house for a great price. It's a beautiful place. They come to the park quite often to attend some of the events and to see all their friends from when they lived here. They travel to their home in Indiana to spend the summers.

We spent the afternoon cards. I'm learning some of the games that they play here in the park. It's nice to play among a few friends until we get good enough to join the formal games in the clubhouse. So with the shuffleboard, card games, sightseeing around the area, and socializing, it appears I finally have a life. :)

We got home at 8:30. Jim is watching ESPN to get caught up on today's football games. We got a text from our son in Chicago that he's at the Chicago Blackhawks hockey game with our grandson and he's sitting right behind the players' bench. So we're watching the game on TV trying to get a glimpse of them.

Life is GOOD!
