Adelaide Shores Classic Car Show

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 81  Lo 48 -- We were excited about today's car show. It's an annual event here in the park, and we heard so much about it all week. After breakfast we sat and watched the cars come in. We walked over at the 2pm starting time and walked around taking pictures and talking to the owners. They were from all around the area, but most of them are "seasonals" who live up north during the summer. I had a 1975 Camaro years ago that I used to show, and it really brought back memories.

My favorite because it’s Carolina blue. It's a Ford with a Chevy engine.


This 1960 Chevy is a beauty!




This 1956 Chevy won "best in show" based on votes. It's won several trophies over the years and has been featured in several magazines. It was immaculate!



1962 Chevy.


Jim likes '60's muscle cars, and he really liked this 1966 Pontiac GTO.


1963 "split window" Sting Ray.


This is really and oldie!


Another muscle car classis, a 1971 Plymouth Duster 340.


This 1969 Cadillac sure reminded us of how BIG cars used to be.

 




This couple dressed their dog in a poodle skirt like hers. I didn’t get their names.


A few ladies in poodle skirts had fun dancing to 50's and 60's music.

There were hot dogs and chips for sale by the pool


Inside the clubhouse was an ice cream social.

We had a great time admiring all the cars from the past. We came home sunburnt from the 81 degree heat. We tried to cool down the RV, but when we turned on the AC it made a rattling sound and the compressor wouldn't stay running. Looks like we have some repairs in our future. So we turned on a fan and relaxed the rest of the evening. It was another great day in our piece of paradise.
