More on Adelaide Shores RV Park

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi 75 Lo 54 -- After we checked emails, read some blogs, and waited for the day to warm up a bit, we took a walk around the park. We met several people and every one of them gave us a warm welcome and friendly chat. Our first impression about the park is that it's great! There are a lot more people here our age; we're not the youngest ones in the park like last year. The park is huge! It's a full mile around the perimeter, so walking will be great.

One of the ways into park is on this small private road. Our site is just past the white fence on the right. But it's only one way, so we can't leave the park this way.

This guy showed off his fancy golf cart. It even has a radio. He said it's a 1999 model, but a new one of this brand costs $20,000. Yikes!


This road goes down the middle of the park down to the lake. It's all downhill, which means it's all uphill coming back! It gives you a good workout.

So far, we're very impressed with the whole park. There's a whole lot of scheduled activities during the day, and a few evening things like pot lucks and entertainers. And we've been told there will be a lot more on the schedule starting in January, when the park really fills up. The shuffleboard sessions are early in the morning, so I doubt if I'll play much this year. That's ok, there's so many other things to do later in the day.

When we got back from our walk Jim did some online Christmas shopping for the grand kids. He's so much better than me at finding good deals online. I did the budget for the month. I was counting our money while Jim was spending it.  :)  We were so busy during October and November that the months just flew by. We're now in one place for a while, so we can relax and enjoy a slower pace for a while. We love it here in another part of that paradise that is Florida.
