The Day Before Christmas

(Avon Park, FL)  Hi  77  Lo  60 -- We woke up to foggy and misty weather, but it sure warmed nicely and got sunny later in the day.

I was surprised, as big as this park is there's not very many who decorated for Christmas, and there wasn't a golf cart parade. I spent the morning reading blogs, and one very interesting one was See Ya When We Get There. Another good one is Jackie and Tony's blog. We visited them last year at Davenport, about 40 miles north of us, and they had a golf cart parade while we visited. I love that idea, and other ideas people come up with are so fun. We didn't decorate this year. If we had family around it would have been different, but neither one of us ever go into the mood to get out the box of Christmas lights. And we haven't figured out a good way to attach lights to the outside of the RV. If anyone has an idea, let me know and we'll put them up next year.

We have a big closet where a side-by-side washer and dryer would go if we had them. We have some large tubs in there and I decided to go through them and do some sorting and straightening. I haven't touched them since we started full time. That took a couple of hours. Then it was time for my walk. The whole park was very quiet, no one out walking and very few cars around. It seemed a little eery. I'm thinking everyone was either making tomorrow's dinner, or food for the pot luck, or out shopping.

I played computer games, including a few games of Words With Friends for the few who were online. That's such a great time killer. We also watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which is one of our favorite Christmas movies. This evening we'll probably watch some more Christmas shows.

You said in a few past post that everyone pays their own Hydro at the park your at. People don't want to be the first to decorate because they don't want to pay for the hydro they are being CHEAP. Most Christmas decorations use mini bulbs or L.E.D. lights which are very economical.

Fastening lights to a fifth wheel is easy to do using spring loaded clothes pins and the gutter rails.

Break the mold and show them your not afraid to celebrate the season and maybe you'll putmore people in the mood.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years

It's about time.
