Update on Mom - Learning Google Plus - Local Seafood

(Beaufort, NC) Hi 63  Lo 55 -- Rainy, windy, nasty day, and it may last for the next 24 hours. Jim went with his sister and her boyfriend Jim, to get a few things done and visit with other family members. I stayed at home and was lazy all day. I played Words with Friends, and also spent some time learning how to get around Google +. It's like Facebook, but it works in circles of friends. I have several RV'ers that I keep up with through a circle. I also found this in the comments section of Google +.  It's neat, because the symbols and equations equal the number at each position on the clock face.

I talked with mom on the phone today and she's doing ok.  Our good friend Clara went over for a visit and took their laptop so mom could read some of the blogs she likes to follow (including ours). Thanks Clara, I'm sure you made her day! Mom still received physical therapy, but is hoping to have that end in another week or so. She's wearing a back brace for her spine fracture, but the doctor wants her to remove it to strength her muscles. She's doing ok in her new facility, but of course like all of us still doesn't like giving up her independence.

I watched the waves on the North River, and the RV rocked and rolled from windy gusts all afternoon. The rain has stopped for now, but more coming in tonight. Jim got back later in the afternoon so we visited with Sharon and her Jim, then Sharon prepared a wonderful dinner for us. They stopped on the way home for some fresh local seafood. We had flounder, soft shell crabs, and Jim surprised me with a lobster tail, which Sharon broiled to perfection!

Soft shell crabs.

For those who may not know, soft shell crabs are blue crabs that are caught right after they molt (lose their shells). After deep frying, you eat the whole thing, legs and all. The texture of the crunchy legs takes some getting used to, but the flavor is to die for!

Lobster meat, baked potato, soft shell crabs, and flounder filet. It doesn't get any better than that!
I think the two Jim's are full.
We visited awhile then went back to the RV to watch TV. We'll be rocking in the wind all night tonight, but we'll be ok.

Never could get to likin' those soft shell crabs. I love Maryland blue crabs but I want that shell to crack.

Can your Mom not have a computer in her room? Or do they not have internet there? That's too bad since you liked to keep up with her that way.
