Meeting a Long Lost Cousin

(Ft. Lauderdale, FL)  Hi 76 Lo 62 – I got up real early this morning, I just couldn’t sleep. I got a lot of computer blogs read and games played before the time I would normally get up.

We were looking forward to a planned lunch date today. When we visited Jim's aunt and uncle this past spring, we mentioned we were looking for a financial advisor, and they put us in contact with their son Scott, who has an office on the 15th floor of an office building in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. We signed on with Scott for him to handle our investments, but our "meetings" were always by phone or email. When we emailed Scott that we were coming to this area he immediately invited us to lunch. So today we finally got to meet him in person over lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. It was great getting to know each other, and he and Jim enjoyed comparing family memories. They were both raised in different parts of the country so they never got to meet before today.

Before we left for lunch we got to enjoy the view from his 15th floor conference room.

Thanks for lunch Scott. It was great to finally meet you, and we hope it won't be the last time we get to see you!

I've been thinking about getting satellite radio in my car. When we're on the road it's really hard to get radio stations that play the oldies I like to listen to. And I'm really getting tire of the few CD's I have. So on the way home from lunch we stopped at Best Buy and bought an XM radio. Jim is going back tomorrow morning to have it installed. Now I'll be able to listen to my 60's music all the time.

We got back home in time for happy hour with Chris and Jim of Geeks on Tour. We have only one more day left here and we wanted to be with them one more time. Jim bought a small PA system to use for the seminars they do at RV rallies. Chris showed how the speaker sounds by singing a little Karaoke.

Jim also showed how easy it is to connect his Droid smartphone to the system and play Pandora radio. It's like a super-big iPod dock.

We sat outside enjoying the evening until the sun went down and it started to get chilly.

We had another great time today. Tomorrow is mom’s big day, moving to my sisters house. I’ll write all about it tomorrow.

We have XM in the truck. I could listen to 50's and 60's music all day. Great pictures of south Florida.

Looks like you had a great day! Though I don't care to be up that high in a building---- ewww

sitting out in the lawn chairs till the sun went down sounds like a perfect way to end the day!
