Fair is Over -- Lots of Activity

(NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC)  Hi 72 Lo 44 --  Poor Jim, he got up real early to get mom to her doctor appointment this morning. He got into some heavy traffic with people going to work. After her appointment he treated her to breakfast, then took her home and came to the RV.

While I was waiting for him I watched a lot of activity in the campground. A lot of RV's  were pulling out, along with vendor trailers and horse trailers. Trucks were on the move loaded with parts from the rides. I watched the activity while doing some house cleaning. I've been neglecting it the past few weeks, and everything is very dusty from the gravel roads around us.

When Jim got back we headed to the apartment to get more of mom's crafts. We're letting her pick what she wants, then swapping out for things she needs to go through instead of giving her everything at once. She's getting used to the fact that she's going to have to work with her crafts in a small space. We went to Wal-Mart and got a couple of flat storage boxes that fit under the bed. Thanks to our readers who suggested that. Mom will store her off-season clothes in them.

After spending some time with mom we left and headed about 20 miles west to Dickson's RV Park in Moncure to see Gale and Anna. They've stopped in the area on their way to Florida. It was great seeing them again. We'll be following them to Florida in a few weeks. They're staying in the Ocala area and we'll be in Avon Park. After goodbye hugs and handshakes all around, we headed home. The traffic was a lot lighter now that the fair is over. :)

After settling in we had a knock on the door. We were pleasantly surprised to see Paul and Jill. They're a couple we met while we were preparing to go full time. It's so good to see them. They're parked a row over from us. We hope to go out with them one night this week before we leave. Thanks guys for stopping by to say hello.

Great that you met Gale and Anna, more RV-Dream chatters. And then to see Paul and Jill, too. Quite a day!

Sounds like you're almost done there. You'll worry about your mom less after you leave, knowing she's safe.
Tell Paul and Jill hi from us! Oh, and ask them if they know where George is :)

Wow, you two are doing such a great job for your mom!! It is hard work, but so worth it to know she will be in a safe place and have the care she might need.

Enjoy your visit with Paul and Jill. I believe a visit with Carolina Clan members make you a member;o))

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
